MEMORY LOST

Memory Lost turns its focus to the recollections of others—drawn from anonymous Super 8mm home movies purchased on eBay. These once-private recordings, now ownerless and commodified, offer glimpses into family histories that have slipped from personal hands. Over the course of a year, the artist scanned and edited more than 5,000 feet of film from ten families, dating from the 1950s to the 1980s. Still images pulled from the footage are paired with imagined dialogue, creating speculative narratives that blur the line between memory and invention. The series reflects on the fragility of memory, the circulation of personal archives, and the question of who owns a story once it leaves the frame.
